Its likely you will need to overnight before heading out to the Islands, we recomend The Terrace Apartments for value and accessability.

There are other options.

Returning it is possible to fly the same day on some late evening flights.

The Yasawa Flyer returns approximately 5:45 pm each day.

A typical Taxi take 30 minutes to the airport.

De Haviland DC2 Float Plane.jpeg

Turtle Airways have a De Haviland DC2 Float Plane that is regularly used for transfers, for the enthusiust these planes are a blast.

There are helicopter transfers and other floatplanes that fly regularly to the Yasawas.. sometimes if you take the price of a hotel room plus the costs of the Yasawa Flyer off the price of a flight transfer.. hell it makes sense to me anyway.. its a beautiful flight.

Traveling to Outer Islands

Arriving and Returning it is often possible to fly the same day however many prefer to freshen up overnight, the propeller flight and transfer are usually very scenic

We recomend The Crown Plaza, it is competitivly priced and situated on a beach 10 minutes taxi from the airport. Alternately the Airport Gateway is perfectly acceptable overnight if your not too fussy.

Corals form 2 distinct types Hard Corals and Soft Corals.

Both coral types are facing pressure from pollutants and warming surface water

Hard Corals ..marine animals in the phylum Cnidaria that build themselves a hard skeleton. The individual animals are known as polyps and have a cylindrical body crowned by an oral disc in which a mouth is fringed with tentacles.

Soft Corals ..Corals are animals, even though they look like plants and have many of the same characteristics. Soft corals are in the phylum Cnidaria (from the Greek word for “stinging needles”) and the class Anthozoa. Hard corals, anemones and jellyfish are also in the phylum Cnidaria

Garden of the Sleeping Giant

The Garden is a wonderful spot to spend half a day just wandering along the canopy-covered boardwalk, through gardens of orchids then into the heart of a dense rainforest. Once the private collection of the late American actor, Raymond Burr.

The Ziplini is handy to the Gardens and a bit of a blast for the adrenalin junkies

Nadi Market.jpg
Nadi Market

The market is located next to the bus station and is open every except Sunday.

This can be busy or quite relaxed.. it just depends

Fijians are very friendly by nature and a "Bula Bula" is the typical greeting

You will find all sorts of seasonal fruits and spices here

Nadi Craft Market
Craft Market.jpg

Owned by the Nadi City Council, this is a more competitive market, you will need to say "NO thank you " a lot

That is the way of market shopkeepers in Fiji... hustle for the sale. You will find more sales pressure in Bali or Thailand. but it can be tiring..  prices can be cheaper than Jacks ( depending on your negotiating skills ! )

Its a lot more fun than letting one of the mainstreet scammers take you to their "Uncles" for a special price ( special for them )

about Snorkeling Fiji Adventures

We have been diving and snorkeling the reefs of Fiji for over 20 years. our most recent 5 year travels through some of the more remote reefs aboard our yacht have highlighted the fact they are amazingly beautiful, and we need to be aware of the need to protect them and the species they support.

The best way we can see to do this is to encourage people to swim in them. .its only once you have been there you can feel how special they are

Fiji Snorkeling Adventures is a subsidary of Waterlust Fiji
